scenes from a train

Our KiwiRail travels were so relaxing as we travelled from Palmerston North to Hamilton and back. Click here for info on my other blog about the railway.

I'm sharing some photos over the next few posts. Winter means that the rivers are swollen with rain and the hillsides are spectacularly green. It also makes for not-so-great photos, but we had a good time anyway.
The lone buildings are some that remain from the railroad boom.

Is that a real train Betty or is it just for tourism? Very pretty scenery.

I love classic New Zealand shots like these - and the winter mist really brings out the colors. Thanks for sharing.

I've always found it nigh on impossible to get decent shots from a train but yours are lovely. Looks like a very enjoyable, stress free way to travel .
