mangamingi saddle shots

Today was a lovely and sunshiny day, so I went out to Mangamingi Saddle to take some photos of the mountain. The whole area is lovely pastureland and you can see for miles kilometers!

This sheep was curious about the lady with the camera.

And this is the same sheep in a wider shot. That's Mt. Ruapehu in the background toward the left  (about 125k away--3 hours by road).

I love the wonderfully uneven ground that works great for grazing.

Of course, Mt Taranaki was in all his splendor and glory!

Just stunning! That second shot reminds me of our canyons out west, except for the grass! I appreciate you stopping by to join up with us on The Maple Hill Hop!

This scenery is incredibly beautiful.

Funny, when I try to get pictures of sheep, they become indignant and move away. :-)

Love the third shots because you show the three "fields" and Maple Hill is gorgeous! That sheep is hilarious:)
So do you think in miles or kilometers? It took me forever to know -looking with they eye, if something was exactly an inch (still thinking in centimeters:) ) Have a great week!

From the first two photos I believe you have a very fine zoom lens. Perhaps the sheep just wanted to pose for a photo. The mountain is spectacular.

wow, going back in time. I remember this kind os strange slopes from my visit to NZ many years ago. I remember wondering if the paths was created by the sheep of made by human :) It is a beautiful landscape.
