the Parrot Place

The Parrot Place in Kerikeri was one of our destinations on our holiday. We had been there before but it's too much fun to pass up. This king parrot on my neck (below) never stopped nibbling on my hair and skin--weird but nice!

There is a walk-through aviary that has lots of pretty and friendly birds.

This parrot loves attention and when he wasn't the center of the universe, he would hang upside down by one talon to get it.

This is Elmo, the mascot of the Parrot Place. He can't fly but he loves it when you hold him up high.

How fun this would be!!! I'd be going there often enough the birds, intelligent as they are, would probably know my name soon enough!!!

Excellent, exceptional images.

Wow - I'd not seen these before - this is an amazing place and amazing photos. I love the little parrot that hangs by one leg. When I was growing up my dad had a parrot - Red Headed Amazon, we were told - but it had a green head. The people who had him before us were mean and the parrot could cuss like a sailor. My mom went to church and she taught the parrot to sing Jesus Loves Me. To entertain company the parrot would sing Jesus Loves Me This I know. ()U&^7&&^$%% &&(^^%$ - For the Bible tells me so (*&&%$$#$%$ %$##@#$ - used to make my mom so mad - we kids laughed (where she couldn't hear us)

Hello!:)
Super images of all the birds. I like parrots because they are so colourful, beautiful, but also smart.I read Marie's comment, and I also admire the turquoise parrot, have never seen one in that colour either, but they are all lovely.
