art in the park

We tend to shy away from crowds, especially on weekends, but we ventured to Hawera over the weekend where I got to see the inside of the Hawera Observatory for the first time at the 'Art in the Park' weekend. The telescope was restored and they were giving free views of the moon!  You click here you can read some of its history.

We were impressed with the amount of entertainment and the number of people attending.

Of course, I had to take photos of the beautiful rose garden.

What a lovely, lovely afternoon! Even if not dancing the music is so enjoyable!

There's a huge observatory in the UK that you can visit but I've never been. Looks like a lovely location with the rose garden.
