good news for st mary's

I mentioned a while back that this great church is not earthquake-proof and will be closing. According to the paper, it will not be demolished but it will take a long time to make the cathedral itself usable again. Until then, the other buildings will still be used. Click here for more photos of the cathedral. Click here for its history.

It's such a beautiful chapel. Enjoyed the photos of it and the graves. Too bad it is closing for a long time.

Sad that such a nice church is no longer safe in an earthquake. Hope they can do something to bolster it.

Such a beautiful church, shame that it is not in use but at least it is not going to be demolished.

What a shame if the building was ever damaged.

It is a shame that the church cannot be used safely, but it is good to know that it will remain. I hope that the work can be done to make it safe for use in the future. Thank you for joining Five On Friday. I hope that you had a great weekend and will have a good week to come! xx
