more birds at the park

At Pukekura Park in New Plymouth, we wandered to the Bowl of Brooklands where they have concerts throughout the year. The Canadian geese got some good seats down front.

This pair of Paradise Ducks were enjoying the sunny day along with the geese.

Hubby was intrigued with the sparrows on the lily pads in the pond by the stage.

Another of Hubby's shots--a preening pukeko.

Love your bird shots, especially the preening pukeko, (they are such characters) and the sparrows on the water lilies. In fact i like them all.

I love these bird shots. Wish I could be there in person. Looking at these reminded me of a movie we just watched, The Big Year, all about "birding" or keeping track of all the different types of birds you can spot within the span of a year. It has me really thinking about the bounty of bird beauty that exists in the world.

Those were great shots. That 1st one where the geese were sitting by those stairs caught my eye right away. I enjoyed seeing all your bird shots today.

Very nice shots - I would have been interested in the sparrows on the lily pads as well - I have never seen them doing that.
